WELP . . . after what seems like a million hours and killing, I'm quite certain is, a million brain cells, I've launched my website. There are so many boo-boos, but that's the way this one is going to roll!
I have no idea if it is going to help with the book sales or not - right now I'm fairly certain I'm near the bottom of Amazon's list of authors! We're supposed to market the book ourselves, but there is no clear pathway to do that . . . each one is strewn with the potholes of scam artists looking to make a buck.
Frankly, I didn't think the first book, Burning Fields and Winter Storms, would do that well because it is so dark and brooding. One of my favorite parts of the book is at the end - a long one called "Breakdown - A Narrative". It literally takes you with me from the time I shoved the pills in my mouth, right through to when I was finally released from the nuthouse. Now, don't get your knickers-in-a-twist because I call it "the nuthouse" - that's an affectionate term for me.
There is nothing but absolute, raw truth in that narrative. I can so clearly remember arriving there - all strapped down to a gurney - wondering what the hell would happen next. I didn't expect to be greeted by this amazingly cordial, warm, and kind gentleman! He welcomed me, asked how I was doing, and assured me I would be well taken care of.
It turns out he was the 'resident' schizophrenic! What an affable, nice guy he was. That's where I got my best intel!
But that's all in the book.
I will cut it off here and resume later!
See ya!
