My BFF is trying to convince me to try out for cheerleading even though she knows I’m more of a soccer-kind-of-girl. What should I do? I don’t feel like she’s respecting my own choices.
-
It seems to me that if you just TOLD her that you are GOING to try out for the soccer team and she has a problem with that, she is not really your friend but someone who wants to control you. You don't have to be LOUD when you tell her - just quietly tell her, "thanks for suggesting the cheer team but I've decided to go out for soccer instead - I'm not really a "cheerleader" type of person." Lily Anne
- If she knows already you are a soccer person and not a cheerleader-type, and still insists you try out for the cheer team, I think it's her insecurities showing - she wants someone to be there WITH HER when she tries out. Katherine

I really like this guy and he likes me. He is constantly trying to hug me or hold my hand or kiss me at school even though PDA’s are never allowed. What do I do?

I’ve been close friends with someone since 3rd grade but now that we’re in middle school, she completely ignores me and is hanging out with the ‘mean girls’.
-
I heard that my BFF has been talking shit about me to other girls and I want to know why. It has really hurt me. How should I talk to her?
-
Is she really talking smack or is that just gossip? Go to your friend and ask her straight up if she said those things first. If she did, then you have a different situation - if she didn't, you have a mole in your group of friends who's stirring the pot and can't be trusted. Ms. Judi

-
Ask yourself what would you want from someone if the situation was reversed, then give him that support! Marissa

Why do parents constantly say that school isn’t about my social life? When it is – TOTALLY. I spend over half the day there so it’s important – why can’t parents see this?
